There is a Position for an Employee currently open at Shadow Of The Gardener.

 

Gardener’s Assistant Position.

Zero Hour Contract for initial Assessment and then Trial period.  Then at an agreed period of any potential Probation Period after those are completed; Contracted Hours will be discussed based on Performance and Abilities as well as the amount of “2 Team Members work” is available on the Company Books to offer enough hours for it to be something you would like to consider or need.

Must be Dog Friendly and tolerant of other Animals.  –  Non negotiable.

Gardeners work in other peoples Gardens and around Clients Homes.  You have to respect and be tolerant of Pets as well as Humans in this Company/World.  You are a guest providing a service to people in their personal spaces.

You must also be DBS Checkable and Clear if/when checked.

You must keep your DBS status at all times to work for SOTG.  Non negotiable.

 

Now the good part…

If you like working outdoors, don’t mind getting wet, muddy, hot, sweaty, tired.  Attacked by roses, licked by dogs, adored by your clients and praised from your boss when you do a good job.

If you are not afraid of hard work, enjoying your job be it in the sun, rain, snow, hail, thunder and sleet.

I work simple hours outdoors and in, making people smile and relax.

I go to work smiling I come home smiling.

Every day is take my dog to work day.

Requirements:

  • Literate (Computer/Smartphone skills especially.)
  • Numerate.
  • Good sense of humour.
  • Friendly.

  • Able to listen.
  • Can work to task and follow instruction.
  • Motivated.
  • Prepared to do physical work.
  • Prepared to work quickly & quietly.

  • Courteous.

Initial tasks will be:

Weeding, manual carrying/lifting/holding (Weights upto and above 30kg), work with Spade/Shovel/Fork/Rake, hand tools for extended periods of times and often on your knees in the Sun and Rain.

Lot’s of making Coffee.

Dog Walking and associated tasks around a canine at a work site.

Being good company.

It will be physical and Mental Grunt work with a steep learning curve and a high workload to be completed in strictly restrictive time periods.

A job where if you can show aptitude and ability to work hard and perhaps learn a few Latin names or common ones it would be encouraged and praised, not demanded.

You could progress and gain access to more specific or precise areas of Interest and prepare yourself for the investment in time and knowledge ahead that gives you the experience, skills and knowledge to indeed go of to build your dream garden or tend your dream clients garden eventually.

 

It won’t be glamorous work initially, but will be rewarding and hopefully enjoyable.

Could lead to steady work with very high job satisfaction.
